the Family
After visiting the property and falling in love with the Shenandoah Valley, the Wallace family left Florida and moved to Virginia in January 2022 to fulfill their lifelong dream of owning Wisteria Farm, a farm in a small mountain town. Prior to purchasing Wisteria Farm & Vineyard, Steve was a nurse by profession but an avid home brewer of mead and cider maker. Cassandra has a degree in public relations and spent 13 years as a risk analyst.
Their goal has been to maintain the charming rustic atmosphere of the vineyard while preserving the existing wine recipes, all while planning to enhance the experience with vineyard tours in the future.
The Wallaces live in the house on site with their daughter, Elizabeth, and two dogs, Toby & Nellie.
the Farm
Wisteria Farm & Vineyard, located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, was established in 2009 when the original owners cleared the land and planted the vines. The entire property spans just over 15 acres, with approximately 3 acres dedicated to the vineyard. In 2021, the winery was acquired by the Wallaces following the retirement of the first owners. Our property also features a small flock of Romney sheep and free-roaming chickens, adding to the rustic charm of the vineyard.
At Wisteria Farm, we are proud to produce a diverse selection of wines entirely on site. Our offerings include reds, whites, and blends that range from completely dry to very sweet, with numerous options in between. Many of our Shenandoah Valley wines have garnered awards in state and regional competitions, and we are especially known for crafting unique creations that you won’t find anywhere else. We also invite visitors to join us for vineyard tours, where you can experience our beautiful surroundings and learn more about our winemaking process.
